The Houston Texans lost the week three matchup at Pittsburgh. The Texans are now 0-3 after having the most challenging three-game schedule this season. The Texans, having lost the last 3, are trying to bounce back against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are also 0-3 after losing against the Tennessee Titans. Both of these teams, who were pre-season favorites, need a win.
One of the biggest storylines this season for the Texans is how they will fill the hole of DeAndre Hopkins. One of the main people who stepped up to fill the void was Will Fuller. Another one that wanted to fill the hole was David Johnson. David wanted to get back to the 2016 all-pro season when he carried over 1000 yards and was one of the best receiving backs in the NFL. The all-pro JJ Watt will lead the Texans defense against a very significant offense led by Dalvin Cook. Last week Dalvin Cook had 22 rushing attempts for 181 yards and one touchdown vs. Titans in week three. The Texans head coach Bill O’Brien says they need to play better on defense because they have no turnovers through week three. But the Vikings Quarterback Kirk Cousins already has six interceptions this year.
In three games, Kirk Cousins has already matched last season's interceptions with six. Last week the Vikings defense couldn’t stop Derrick Henry. Henry carried the ball 26 times for 119 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The Vikings also lost most of the key players from last season in free agency, with a couple of new adds like Yannick Ngakoue. The Vikings got Yannick Ngakoue due to a trade from Jacksonville Jaguars. Yannick Ngakoue and the Vikings defense have a big job this week trying to contain Deshaun Watson. Deshaun Watson threw the ball in the last week game 27 times for over 250 yards and two pass touchdowns. The game will be played in Houston at 1:00 on FOX. Whoever wins this game has a better chance to make the playoffs. The other team has to fight to get in, but can still make it because of the extended playoffs, which lets 16 teams in this year. Who will win?
